HOW AUCTIONS WORK

VERIFY ACCOUNT

To bid on Plater Auctions, you need to create a Plater account and complete the auction onboarding steps.

This includes verifying your identity and linking a payment method. Your information is securely stored by Stripe, not Plater.

You can complete onboarding during sign-up, when placing your first bid, or anytime via the Auctions page on your Dashboard.

You can edit or delete your details at any time, but you’ll need to complete onboarding again before bidding.

SECURE PAYMENTS

Plater Auctions will charge the winning bidder the Buyer’s Premium automatically via the payment method provided to Stripe during your auction onboarding.

The buyer and seller will then be digitally introduced to arrange for payment and delivery privately off-site.   

REVIEW

Once we have reviewed and approved your account, you will be able to bid on any open auction.

HIGHEST BIDDER

Buyer’s Premium is 7.5% (inc. GST), capped at AUD $15,000, with a minimum fee of $400 for auctions sold below $10,000, and a minimum fee of $1,000 for auctions sold above $10,000. 

SUBMIT AN AUCTION ENQUIRY

After you have created a registered account, submit specifications, photos and a desired reserve price for your item.

AGREE ON TERMS

Once we have reviewed your listing and agreed upon terms, we will contact you to offer a position in an upcoming lot.

AUCTION SCHEDULED

Your listing will now appear in the scheduled lot.

POST AUCTION

Once the Buyers Premium has been paid after the auction, the winning bidders details will be given to finalise the purchase.
